The Textile Division is testimony to the Group's ability to be innovative. In the early years, prior to 1960, the business was primarily a weaving operation. The company was then redirected by the present major shareholder, E.D. Andrew, towards the revolutionary technology of the day, needlefelt manufacture.

Today the division has state of the art manufacturing facilities in the UK, United States and China producing high quality engineered technical needlefelts and specialist dry laid non-woven materials used in a large and diverse range of industrial applications.

The Textile division is the leading supplier world-wide of dust filtration needle felts for pollution control installations.

Our engineered textiles are also widely used in office automation, appliance, metal, pharmaceutical, plastic, cement and paint spray applications.

The division has constantly invested in the latest equipment and technology, coupled with a highly motivated international team of expert textile technologists who lead the field in providing innovative solutions to ever-changing and challenging filtration applications.

Andrew Industries has a long tradition of manufacturing technical textiles for the laundry market to meet the various applications and performance criteria within it. We can trace our production roots back to the founding of the company in 1894.

AIL manufactures a wide range of needle punch non-wovens to meet the application requirements found in the modern commercial laundry environments of today.

The product offer encompasses fibres such as polyester; meta-aramid, PTFE and acrylic in a combination of blends or as a 100% uniform product. The blends of fibres offer performance advantages when aggressive conditions such as temperature, chemicals and moisture are present, which in turn can cause premature wear of the more traditional products by degrading the fibres.

From presses to ironers; folders and feeders, AIL manufacturers a comprehensive range of products to meet the performance requirement various stages of the processing application.
